(This list only includes resorts which post an official average on their website. All others are excluded).

  1. Jay Peak, Vermont

Advertised Average snowfall: 359"

I doubt this surprised you (unless you live under a rock). Every East Coast expert skier has heard of the famous Jay Cloud. Jay Peak’s 359" average even beats out some famous mountains out west such as Vail (354"), Park City (355") and Northstar (350"). They also get 70% more snowfall than #10 on this list.

2. Stowe, Vermont

Advertised Average snowfall: 314"

While it’s not Jay by any means, Stowe still offers an impressive 314" a season. They also tie the Colorado resorts of Winter Park and Steamboat.

3. Bolton Valley, Vermont

Advertised Average snowfall: 312"

Bolton Valley is a smaller ski area you might never have even heard of, but they still boast an impressive 312" average snowfall, beating out famous mountains in the rockies like Kicking Horse (300") and Telluride (280").

4. Smuggler’s Notch, Vermont

Advertised Average snowfall: 276"

Located just down the road from #2 Stowe, Smuggler’s Notch receives less snow than its neighbor, but still gets an impressive 276".

5. Sugarbush, Vermont

Advertised Average snowfall: 250"

Sugarbush receives 250", making it the snowiest ikon pass destination on this side of the continent.

6. Killington-Pico, Vermont

Advertised Average snowfall: 250"

This one will likely surprise you (it definitely surprised me), but Killington’s website proudly boasts a 250" snowfall. If it weren’t for third-party onthesnow.com agreeing with them, I would emit them from the list entirely. Take this one with a grain of salt, but regardless, they do claim 250".

7. Mad River Glen, Vermont

Advertised Average snowfall: 228"

Mad River Glen is most well known for its expert terrain and famous single chairlift, but receives an impressive 228" of snowfall a year.

8. Saddleback Mountain, Maine

Advertised average snowfall: 225"

Saddleback has had a rocky history for the last few years, being closed since 2014, but was recently purchased by a Boston investment firm who plans to reopen the ski area later this year and invest $38 million into the mountain, including a new high speed quad to replace the Rangeley double chairlift. I guess you could say that the saddle is back!

9. Le Massif, Quebec

Advertised Average snowfall: 212"

Le Massif is definitely an interesting looking ski area, with lodges at the top and bottom, a train line, and views of the Saint Lawrence River. I’d love to get the chance to ski here one day.

10. Mont Sainte-Anne, Quebec

Advertised average snowfall: 209"

Mont-Sainte Anne closes out this list with their 209" a year, beating out Wildcat NH by just 2 inches.
